Built on real open data, it turns assumptions into an evidence-based picture, shown on an interactive map. The same engine works for any located network, public or commercial. This demonstration analyses fire station coverage across Greater Sydney.

The gaps aren't where you'd expect
EquiMap analysed all 361 Greater Sydney communities with 335 real fire stations. In this demonstration the areas furthest from help, Bilpin, Dural, Galston, are premium semi-rural fringe, not the inner-city modest suburbs the conventional model predicts.

Coverage equity is directional
In metro Sydney, dense modest suburbs are well covered, while premium fringe areas show the gaps. In rural Australia the pattern can reverse. You cannot assume the direction, which is exactly why it is worth measuring per service, per place.

Today's GIS platforms show where services are, excellent at mapping, by design. EquiMap adds the missing layer: weighting coverage by socio-economic profile, age, and population across multiple service types at once, on real open data. It complements existing tools rather than replacing them.
